Product applicability

The EZ APS ToolBox is used to connect to all EZ Comm series APS push buttons and control units:

  • EN2
  • EN4

EZ APS ToolBox v4.18 (2018-11-30)

  • Fixed issue causing ToolBox to not open until user clears AppData preferences. (bug from 4.17)

EZ APS ToolBox v4.17 (2017-09-21)

  • Add ability to change IP address via USB/Ethernet within EZ APS ToolBox. (LTX FW 4.7)
  • Due to a hardware change in the Ethernet module, the updated firmware is needed to enable the unit to have a valid Etherenet MAC Address. This update is highly recommended if Ethernet will be utilized.
  • Added the ability to read and update the IP Address and network information for the Ethernet module using the EZ APS ToolBox. The IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway can now be changed on the CCU2EN via Ethernet or USB.

EZ APS ToolBox v4.16 (2017-07-20)

  • Fixed issue with SP0->SP1 upgrade when SP0 version was v1.xx.
  • Fixed issue which caused Extended Push Priority configuration paramteter to not read correctly from the PBS.
  • Added ability to open configuration files from any format or version of the Toolbox. Can now open SP1 Toolbox files in SP2 (.en2c vs .e2c). Can now load an EN4 config for use in an EN2 and vice-versa.
  • Added new ability to extract audio files (VOL/Walk) from EPBS.
  • Allow only one instance of Toolbox to be open at once.
  • Put the version number in the window titlebar.
  • Added Start Programming button to the Firmware Update screen in addition to the EZ510 image Power/Program button.

EZ APS ToolBox v4.15 (2015-05-29)

  • Fixed issue with EN4 units prior to version v3.12 which did not have the Extended Push Count feature causing the program to have a communication failure when attempting to read the count (that didn't exist). Added a version determination prior to reading the count.
  • Fixed an issue which could cause the unit to not recognize a necessary firmware update when the AP was SP1, but the MP was SP0.
  • Fixed an issue with the CSV Import feature of the Ethernet Connection List which caused IP addresses to have a space in front of them making them appear as invalid.

EZ APS ToolBox v4.14 (2014-03-04 TechBrief #1039)

  • Fixed an issue which could cause a communication error when reading the health log. If the date/time field contained invalid information, Jan 1, 2000 is displayed instead of causing a comm error.
  • Fixed an issue which could cause a communication error when reading the SNMP IP addresses. If all IP addresses values are zero, then show zeros in the IP field. There was an error generated if all bytes in the command return were zero.
  • Fixed an issue which could cause a communication error when reading the Extended Push count from an EN4 unit with software prior to version 3.12.
  • Fixed an issue which caused the hyperlink to polara.com on the program header to be unresponsive.
  • Fixed the tool tip popup text when hovering over the SNMP IP labels so they contain the proper information.
  • TechBrief#1039

"An update to the EZ APS Toolbox has been released that includes several performance enhancements and bug fixes. The version of the new Toolbox is v4.14.

When setting the ID of a PBS in the Setup/Security page (while connected to a PBS via USB), the ID Selection dropdown now only allows the selection of valid IDs for the channel in which the PBS is connected instead of showing IDs for all channels. Also, if the Toolbox detects that the previously set ID does not match the channel that the PBS is connected to, a warning dialog will appear which informs the user to reset the PBS ID and the ID is automatically set to None.

Several additional changes have been made which address communication issues that may have appeared on rare occasions.

The new EZ APS Toolbox v4.14 is available on Polara’s website in the main page of the Traffic section."

EZ APS ToolBox v4.13 (2014-12-16)

  • SP1 EPBS Setup/Security: When logging in, unit is checked for ID. If the previously set ID does not match the detected channel, then the Setup/Security tab is displayed and a message pops up telling the user to set the ID.
  • SP1 EPBS Setup/Security: Fixed an issue that would allow the user to set the ID to any ID regardless of the channel it is connected to. The fix limits the selection to only IDs for the channel the button is connected to.
  • Audio Programming: Added a horizontal scroll bar to the grey side info box to allow the user to scroll to the side to see any information which doesn't fit on screen. Previously, the data was cut off and unable to be seen.

EZ APS ToolBox v4.12 (2014-09-25)

  • Completed implementation of SP0 EPBS command infrastructure.

EZ APS ToolBox v4.11 (2014-09-25)

  • Initial SP2 software version.

EZ APS ToolBox v4.08 (2012-10-24)

  • Development Release Candidate 3
  • Fixed text size issue inside Intersection Text dialog.
  • Changed default image inside Intersection Text dialog.
  • Modified layout of several pages so the buttons along the top do not scroll and are viewable on screen at all times.
