How do I install the wires when swapping from XAV2E to iNX Buttons?
This article gives instruction on how to complete the wire connections when replacing XAV2E buttons with iNX buttons.
NOTE: Colors for the wires used on the XAV2E button to XAVCU2 control board are not always the same. The XAV2E button uses 8 Wires but the iNX button only needs 6 Wires. AUD1 and AUD2 are not needed and can be taped off.
- 2 Wires - PWR & GND:
- The iNX needs a constant source of DC voltage (10-24 VDC) to remain powered
- 2 Wires - BUTTON (+/-):
- Connects to the N/O (Normally Open) signal on the RRFB. Once the button is pressed this connection creates a contact closure. This normally triggers the controller to start flashing the lights
- 2 Wires - LIGHTS (+/-): For the iNX to play the programmed message and flash its LED, you will need to feed a signal to the LIGHTS input from the controller (7-32 VDC)

Replacing only one XAV2E button with an iNX
The XAVCU2 board is expected to remain in place to operate the XAV2E button that is still installed.
Connect the wires from the iNX button to the XAVCU2-DC board. If the control board is an XAVCU2 then find an alternate source of DC power, or leave the PWR (Red) and GND (Black) connections on the XAVCU2.
- If one XAV2E button is being replaced with an iNX button while the second remains an XAV button, connect the wires from the iNX button to the XAVCU2 or XAVCU2-DC board as illustrated in the image
- The existing wiring for the remaining XAV2E button remains in place
- 2 Wires - iNX PWR & GND:
- PWR connects to DC Input POS+ (Red)
- Or stay in place on PWR+
- GND connects to DC Input NEG- (Black)
- Or stay in place on PWR-
- PWR connects to DC Input POS+ (Red)
- 2 Wires - iNX BUTTON (+/-): Polarity does not matter
- BUTTON (+) connects to BUTTON OUT (Blue)
- BUTTON (-) connects to BUTTON OUT (Brown)
- 2 Wires - iNX LIGHTS (+/-): Polarity does not matter
- LIGHTS (+) connects to 10-35V (Yellow)
- LIGHTS (-) connects to LTS IN COM (Orange)
Replacing all XAV2E buttons with iNX buttons
Connect the wires from the iNX buttons to wires from RRFB
- If both XAV2E buttons are being replaced with iNX buttons, the XAVCU2 or XAVCU2-DC board will no longer be used. Instead, connect the wires from the iNX buttons directly to the wires coming from the RRFB, as shown in the image
- 2 Wires - PWR & GND:
- PWR: Connect to wire that was connected to DC Input POS+ (Red)
- GND: Connect to wire that was connected to DC Input NEG- (Black)
- 2 Wires - BUTTON (+/-): Polarity does not matter
- BUTTON (+) will connect to a wire from the RRFB that was connected to BUTTON OUT (Blue)
- BUTTON (-) will connect to a wire from the RRFB that was connected to BUTTON OUT (Brown)
- 2 Wires - LIGHTS (+/-): Polarity does not matter
- LIGHTS (+) will connect to a wire from the RRFB that was connected to LTS IN COM (Yellow)
- LIGHTS (-) will connect to a wire from the RRFB that was connected to 10-35V (Orange)
