iNX Troubleshooting

Will not power on
Ensure correct polarity on PWR and GND. Note: An iNX button only operates on DC voltage.

Measure voltage (10-24VDC) across PWR and GND, If voltage is not within range, disconnect field wiring and measure across wires. If voltage is still not within range, narrow problem to field wiring or to RRFB Controller.

If within range, attempt to power cycled the button by removing the PWR wire, waiting 5 seconds, and reconnecting. If button does not recover after a power cycle, RMA button.

Before troubleshooting for any below issues, ensure the FW is up to date on the iNX button (on the app navigate to Firmware Update > Apply Latest Firmware)

Lights will not flash
Ensure button is powered on - usually indicated by the button playing the locate tone or is visible on the Field Service App > Connections menu.

Measure voltage (7-32VDC) supplied across BUTTON terminals to see if voltage drops to ~0VDC when the button is pressed.

If not, power cycle the button and attempt again (if this fixed the issue, see if a FW update is available).

If voltage supplied is not within range, narrow problem to field wiring or RRFB controller.

If voltage drops to ~0VDC, disconnect wires from BUTTON terminals & manually short them to see if the lights illuminate. If not, the problem is with the RRFB controller.
Button will not play sounds

Ensure button is powered on - usually indicated by the button playing the locate tone or is visible on the Field Service App > Connections menu.

Ensure button is set to look for the appropriate signal from the RRFB light input. In the Field Service App > Settings, "LED Flash Behavior."

1. Track Lts In (Track Lights Input):

The LED output will mimic the signal present on the LIGHTS terminal. When the input is High, the LED will be on.

When the input is Low, the LED will be off. Typically you will see a fluctuation of the voltage on the LIGHTS input wires.

When this is active, the iNX will play the Speech Message Selection saved in Settings.

This setting is commonly used with an RRFB.

2. Play Predefined Pattern:

Upon detecting a High input, the iNX will play a predefined pattern so long as the LIGHTS terminal voltage is held High.

When this is active, the iNX will play the Speech Message Selection saved in Settings.

Measure voltage (7-32VDC) across the LIGHTS terminals when the RRFB is active. If not within range, narrow problem to field wiring or RRFB controller.

Note: Shortly after the button is pressed, a pulse or applied voltage is sent from the RRFB controller on the LIGHTS terminals to the iNX button to play the message. There should be a voltage present for the full duration of the activated RRFB.
