The Polara PedApp is for all pedestrians to wirelessly push/actuate/place a pedestrian call/walk request. Compatible with Polara iNS Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS) that have the feature enabled and configured correctly.

Includes enhanced features for visually impaired pedestrians include identification and location of APS. When activated App will alert pedestrian of nearby APS crossing and allow user to choose desired crossing. Corresponding APS's locate tone will increase in volume and APS will receive a push/actuation signal from the App to place a pedestrian call/walk request. The App can provide audible indications for Walk, Don't Walk, Pedestrian Clearance (including audible countdown if desired) phases.

  • Added "Searching for Intersections" indication on start screen

iOS PedApp v1.2 (2021-04-01)

  • Fixed an issue which could cause intersections long street names to not be detected. Also, cleaned up the onscreen display of streets with long names.

iOS PedApp v1.1 (2020-12-18)

  • New feature added for all pedestrians to simply place a call on a detected intersection to allow crossing the street without needing to touch the push button. We also modified the buttons to make them easier to navigate with VoiceOver enabled

iOS PedApp v1.0 (2020-07-02)

  • Beta test, basic functionality
